Boarding

Your pup’s dream sleepover awaits.

We turn your dog’s staycation into their favourite story, with dreams filled of tomorrow’s adventures.

While you're away making memories, we're giving them the time of their lives—new friends, endless adventures, and all the cuddles their heart desires. Boarding is available 7 days a week, including holidays, because great days shouldn't wait for weekends. By bedtime, they'll be happily exhausted from a day of pure joy, drifting off with tired paws and the kind of tired that comes from the best day ever.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Times

We welcome boarding guests in the morning or at noon, giving them plenty of time to play hard and sleep well. Afternoon drop-offs aren't available because dogs need adequate time to burn off their energy and fully benefit from our daycare experience. Dogs arriving in the afternoon also tend to disturb the natural rhythm of our group, as our morning guests are typically settling into their rest period after hours of active play and socialization.

We know schedules don't always go as planned. Special arrival or pickup times are available by appointment and may be subject to an additional fee, and late pickups simply extend your dog's adventure with us through additional daycare.

You should always let your vet know if you are on extended vacation - we do need authorization to speak to your vet about your dog or to bring them in for care. We also may use the emergency vet in Collingwood if authorization from your regular clinic is not provided. This is also why we require an emergency contact person who is also authorized to make decisions on your behalf.

Our holiday periods include statutory holidays, Christmas Break, and March Break.

Drop off and Pick Up times change during holiday periods.

What to Pack For Your Dog's Stay

Personalized care for your pup to live their best life with us is what we love to do. Think of this as their VIP treatment checklist.

  • Food for entire stay (plus extra) - Whether raw, kibble, or cooked, bring enough for their full visit with a little extra just in case

  • Special food topper - Dogs can be pickier when boarding, so pack canned food, dehydrated sprinkles, treats, probiotics for sensitive stomachs, canned pumpkin, or chopped veggies to entice them

  • Raised dog beds are provided. OPTIONAL Machine-washable mat or blanket.  Please ensure these are clean and in good condition

  • Long-lasting chews for quiet times (e.g., rawhide, Yak Cheese Chews, bully sticks, etc.)

  • Weather-appropriate clothing - Life jackets for pond activities, warm coats, or any other clothing your dog may need

  • UPDATE your dog’s profile so their information is current, including their feeding instructions.

  • Label all personal belongings- this is required!

Please label all belongings.

What vaccinations are required for my dog to attend The Homestead?

All dogs must be up to date on their core vaccinations, including rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and Bordetella (kennel cough). We will verify these during the Meet & Greet registration process for new clients. Existing clients are required to ensure their dog’s vaccines are current and noted in their dog profile in our online portal.

Plan to vaccinate your dog at least 2 weeks prior to any boarding or daycare visits. Vaccinations do not work immediately. For example, an oral or intranasal Bordetella vaccine takes 3-4 days to achieve a level of protection. Injectable versions will take 7-10 days. Speak to your vet to receive the best advice and plan your visits to The Homestead accordingly.
