Booking Policy for The Homestead Nottawa

At The Homestead Nottawa, we do our best to keep things simple and fair for everyone. When you book a service with us, we reserve an exclusive spot for your dog only. We have limited spots and schedule our staff based on our bookings, so we have our Booking Policy that helps us plan and give all dogs the very best care and experience with us. All clients agree to this policy when they book with us. Here’s how it works:
DAYCARE & GROOMING SERVICES
Deposits

Single service reservations, including add-on services, do not require a deposit but we strongly recommend at least a 24-hour advance booking to secure a spot.

Grooming and Wellness appointment-based services require a credit card on file, or the client must have sufficient funds in their Store Credit account that can be pre-purchased by emailing reception@thehomesteadnottawa.com.

Daycare Package (5-, 10-, or 20-day packages) require pre-purchase and are non-refundable.
Cancellations & Rescheduling

Cancellations or rescheduling made 24+ hours before the scheduled day: No charge.

Cancellations or rescheduling made less than 24 hours before the scheduled day: Full charge or package credit deducted.
No-Shows
If you don’t show up, haven’t cancelled, haven’t contacted us, or are turned away because of insufficient vaccinations: Full charge or package credit deducted.

BOARDING SERVICES
Deposits
-
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation.

Your spot is not confirmed until we receive the deposit.

The remaining balance is due within 24 hours of picking up your dog.
Cancellations

Cancellations made 7+ days before the scheduled check-in: Full refund of deposit.

Cancellations made 2-6 days before the scheduled check-in: 50% of deposit is refunded.

Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled check-in: No refund of deposit and your reservation will be automatically cancelled.
Modifying a Boarding Reservation & Daycare Add-Ons
Boarding is charged in 24-hour blocks based on your confirmed drop-off time.
When you book boarding, you also select your scheduled pick-up date and time. If your pick-up time extends beyond the 24-hour boarding period, a daycare add-on is booked in advance to reserve your dog’s care space for that day.

We schedule staffing based on the total number of dogs confirmed in our care each day, including boarding dogs and daycare add-ons. Once booked, those spaces and staffing costs are committed.

Shortening a Boarding Stay (Reducing Nights):
If you reduce the number of boarding nights after booking:

7+ days before scheduled check-out:

No penalty. Your booking total will be adjusted.

2–6 days before scheduled check-out:
-
You are financially responsible for 50% of the total cost of the reduced nights.

Less than 48 hours before scheduled check-out:
-
You are financially responsible for 100% of the total cost of the reduced nights.

This applies whether the change occurs before check-in or while your dog is already in our care.

Early Pick-Up and Daycare Add-On Cancellation Policy
You are welcome to pick up earlier than your scheduled time. However, early pickup does not reduce charges for reserved space or staffing. Daycare add-ons are subject to the following policy:

Boarding charges are based on the reserved 24-hour period.

Pre-booked daycare add-ons remain chargeable within 24 hours of the scheduled pick-up time.

24+ hours before your scheduled pick-up time: No charge for cancellations or rescheduling.

Less than 24 hours before your scheduled pick-up time: The half or full-day daycare add-on charge applies (or equivalent package credit will be deducted) — no exceptions.

We operate with structured staffing ratios similar to childcare. Once your reservation is confirmed, care coverage and associated costs are committed.

No-Shows

If you don’t show up, haven’t cancelled, or haven’t contacted us: No refund of deposit, your reservation will be automatically cancelled, and you will be charged the full fee of your original booking.

LAST-MINUTE REQUEST TO EXTEND A BOOKING
If you need to extend your booking while your dog is already in our care due to unforeseen circumstances beyond your control, please email reception@thehomesteadnottawa.com with a subject "Urgent Request" to see if we can accommodate your request. Additional fees may apply.
REFUNDS
Refunds are issued per our Booking Policy.
