JOIN THE HOMESTEAD FAMILY

Every dog’s journey at The Homestead begins with a Meet & Greet—a relaxed visit where you and your dog can explore our space while we get to know your dog as an individual. These sessions are intentionally calm and unhurried so we can thoughtfully evaluate whether our environment suits your dog and if your dog is ready for our group setting.

We welcome all applications and value open, honest conversations with owners. Every dog brings their own personality and history, and sharing those details helps us support the safety and wellbeing of every dog in our care. Sometimes, our environment is not the right fit for dogs with a history of aggression, significant stress or reactivity in group settings, or who require specialized behavioural support beyond our scope of care.

Our Meet & Greet helps us protect the safe, enriching experience our dogs enjoy while warmly welcoming new members into our Homestead family.

Please review our Terms & Conditions for behaviour requirements.

Vaccine & Health Requirements

For everyone’s safety, all dogs must meet our vaccine and health requirements, including the adequate time for vaccines to take effect. These are described in our Terms & Conditions and include:

  • Vaccines: Rabies, Bordetella, DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza)

  • Prevention: Leptospirosis, flea and tick, regular deworming

  • Spay/Neuter: Dogs over 12 months must be spayed or neutered. If your dog is exempt, please email us to discuss  further.

REQUEST A MEET & GREET

We’d love to meet you and your dog! Please complete our online form to request your Meet & Greet with us.

Our team is hands-on with the dogs throughout the day, so please allow up to 48 hours for a reply. Once we review your intake information, we’ll confirm a Meet & Greet date and time if space is available.

Meet & Greets are offered Sunday through Thursday during staffed adventure hours.

After-hours appointments are not available, as evenings are reserved for the dogs’ rest and decompression.

Appointment availability varies throughout the year.

We intentionally limit new introductions into our pack so each dog receives a calm, thoughtful transition.   During peak seasons and holiday periods, we may not be able to offer Meet & Greets.

We appreciate your understanding as we thoughtfully grow our Homestead community. 🐾
